It can sometimes be a little tricky getting the iShip pricing for a
particular package to match the pricing quoted directly by the carrier.
Invariably, this is because of the many factors that go into getting a 100%
accurate price for a given package. It is very easy to enter different
information between the two sites that will make the rate come out
differently.
For some of the carriers, we have provided a list of common errors made
when comparing rates.
FedEx
Common mistakes made when comparing rates between the FedEx web site and
iShip include:

FedEx now charges a $1.35 per package residential delivery surcharge.
iShip will include this charge in the rate if you specify the
destination is a residence. FedEx displays this charge separately.

Be sure that you are consistent when specifying your method of
tendering the package to the carrier: via drop-off at FedEx location,
regular carrier pick-up or calling the carrier for pickup.
UPS
Common mistakes made when comparing rates between the UPS web site and
iShip include:

Be sure that you are consistent when specifying whether the destination
is a Business or Residential address.

Be sure that you are consistent when specifying your method of
tendering the package to the carrier: via drop-off at UPS location, UPS
Air drop-box, regular carrier pick-up or calling the carrier for
pickup.
USPS
Common mistakes made when comparing rates between the USPS web site and
iShip include:

USPS asks whether your shipment is a Large Envelope, Package, Large
Package, or Oversized Package. iShip determines this automatically, so
it is easy to make a mistake when choosing the packaging type on the
USPS site.

After choosing the packaging type on the USPS site, make sure you look
at the list of Special Characteristics. These can affect the rate.
iShip will include of any dimensional- or weight-based special charges
automatically.
